IMPACT LAS VEGAS  MEMBERSHIP


The only membership requirements are

to be female

and to donate $1,000 each year.


Membership in Impact Las Vegas is contingent upon receipt of an annual $1,000 non-refundable, tax-deductible membership donation and a Membership Commitment form.

100% of the membership donation goes toward the annual Grant.


Membership donations are due by

December 15th each year.



We have two types:  Full Membership and Shared Membership


1.)  A woman who contributes $1000 is often referred to as a

“Full Member.”




2.) A woman may also share a Membership. In these cases, two women may each pay $500 so that the total contribution is $1000.

A Shared Membership is considered one full Member; this means that the Shared Membership has one vote for the Grant Award regardless of there being two women participating in the Shared Membership.



Members may participate at the levels of Membership as described below:

Member  

$1000  -  100% to Grant Award


Member Plus  

$1100  -   $1000 to Grant Award,  $50 to Members Award* and $50 unrestricted for operating expenses

Supporting Member  

$1200  -  $1000 to Grant Award, $100 to Members Award* and $100 unrestricted for operating expenses

Supporting Gold Member  

$1500  -  $1000 to Grant Award, $200 to Members Award* and $300 unrestricted for operating expenses

Supporting Premier Member  

$2000  -  $1000 to Grant Award, $500 to Members Award* and $500 unrestricted for operating expenses

Any of above Memberships can be shared by two women

Any of the above Memberships can be shared by splitting between two women and cast one vote


*The Members Award is an optional donation to be given to the Finalist NOT chosen as that year's Grant Award recipient.

"Operating Expenses" refers to an optional donation to help the organization cover the cost of operating. Since 100% of the $1,000 Membership Donation is given out as the Grant Award in the following June, administrative and operating expenses are covered by unrestricted operating donations made by Members and others who we consider Impact Las Vegas  Partners.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

We are committed to acting with integrity in all of our relationships, and to selecting our grant recipients through an honest and fair process. In support of this commitment, our conflict of interest policy requires disclosure of relationships between our board and committee members with any grant applicant or potential grant applicant. Generally, Impact Las Vegas’ policy recognizes the potential for conflict of interest and safeguards against them by requiring any board or committee member to excuse herself from the discussion and/or vote on any topic where a conflict arises.

Members who are serving on the board or a committee of Impact Las Vegas will be formally required to disclose potential conflicts of interest. However, Impact Las Vegas expects all members to act in an objective and fair manner. In particular, members are expected to refrain from any attempt to gain an unfair advantage for any particular grant applicant by, among other things, disclosing confidential information and/or attempting to persuade other members of Impact Las Vegas to vote for such grant applicant.


VOLUNTEER

Members have the choice to simply make their $1,000 membership donation and cast a vote at the annual meeting for the grant recipient of their choice, or they may become actively involved in a committee or as a board member.

We keep our overhead costs low by using an all-volunteer staff to manage the organization. Each year, groups of women work together and volunteer to ensure that we continue to run efficiently and effectively. There are several opportunities for you to lend your talent and services to help us achieve our mission of empowering women by giving collectively in a way that positively transforms our community.

As a member of Impact Las Vegas you choose to be as involved as much or as little as you like. Committees are formed annually and members have the opportunity to participate. Committees include our Grant Review Committee where Members can participate in the grant process by reviewing proposals, attending site visits for applicant organizations and by helping determine the finalists for our annual grant. 

The sign up period for the Grant Review Committees usually occurs in January and March of each year.


Members may also volunteer to help plan events such as the Annual Meeting where we vote to select the grant recipient(s). You can help promote Impact Las Vegas by hosting a social, inviting friends, family, or colleagues to attend a social, or by promoting Impact Las Vegas to other women and increase our membership. You can volunteer to take photos at events, write for our newsletter, or be involved in other ways including serving on our Board.


We realize that other commitments in your busy lives and traveling may keep you from being able to participate as fully as you wish. You can be as involved as your schedule allows! As a Member of Impact Las Vegas you choose your involvement.




HOW DO I JOIN?

  Fill out a Membership Commitment Form

and pay your $1,000 Membership donation by

December 15th.     It's that simple!  

Impact Las Vegas Foundation Inc. is a Nevada nonprofit corporation exempt from federal taxes under U.S. Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). All contributions may be tax deductible pursuant to the provisions of section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
